Cosmetic Surgeon Mr Peter Saxby retires from Mount Stuart Hospital as several new cosmetic surgeons join the team
Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Peter Saxby, has worked at Mount Stuart Hospital for the past 25 years but will be retiring this month. During his varied career he has worked overseas with attachments in Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Sri Lanka and Poland and also in Bosnia, where he spent 2 weeks as a visiting plastic surgeon during the war. In addition to this he spent time working with charitable foundations in Uganda & Trinidad.
Mr Saxby took up a position at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in 1991 where, together with a colleague, he helped set up a new unit offering a full range of plastic surgery services. Shortly afterwards he began working at Mount Stuart Hospital.
Over a long and productive career he has taught, mentored and supported both doctors and nurses, and has received many accolades over the years, probably best summed up by one patient compliment on file “Mr Saxby is amazing!”
We’re of course very sad to see Mr Saxby leave, and wish him a wonderful retirement, but are also excited that our cosmetic surgery service will be going from strength to strength with the arrival of several new cosmetic surgeons recently. Mr Chris Wallace, Mr Nick Cawrse and Miss Katerina Anesti are all consultant plastic surgeons and offer the full range of cosmetic procedures at Mount Stuart Hospital. We also now have a specialist breast surgeon, Mr Michael Green and will soon be introducing a new service for self-pay transgender patients with Mr Andrew Yelland, a renowned specialist surgeon who will be offering breast reconstruction and breast augmentation.
